Fax Alert Installer 1.0...

This is a simple installer for a folder action script that alerts you when a Fax has arrived. It works with Mac OS X 10.3 (Panther) and up.

Please post comments and bug reports here.

Great concept, but the execution *may* be problematic. After installing Fax Alert Installer 1.0 my fax receiving now appears to be completely disabled. Can't state emprically that it was the install of this script, but right now I'd just like to know how to completely remove it.

Thanks, and hopefully my experience is just an aberration.

Should have nothing to do with the script itself, but you can easily disable it by going to the Fax folder in the Finder, and selecting "Remove a Folder Action..." from the contextual menu.

The script doesn't even know, by itself, that that particular folder has something to do with Faxing, nor does it talk to the Fax software in any way... it reacts, too, if you save a file into that folder with any other software, too.

So I'm afraid you'll have to look for another cause...

Hi

Great prgm. Another thing I really would like is an indication that a fax is sending or beeing received. I'm having problems sending/receiving faxes and cant see if something is actually happening.

Any ideas?

Peter, did you try turning on the modem sound? (In System Preferences' Network panel, modem options...)

:P Hi Rainer
Apple should buy this from you. It works with Tiger and was just so easy. Quick down load- Easy install. And presto it just works. Thanks James

What system are you running this on, and what was the exxact message? Did you configure Fax receiving and a folder for it, first?
